It must be noted that the majority of staff remained at the Assault Training Centre, although some junior posts were filled on rotation by officers from combat divisions. When the Centre began to wind down from March 1944 onwards, many officers requested postings to active combat units, or were simply re-assigned as their post was no longer relevant or required.
